Our Services

Please contact us with requests for any of the following services. Our team offers these services free of charge to law enforcement and, in certain situations, to victim’s family members.

DRONE PILOTING

Our team has an FAA licensed drone pilot who uses a DJI Mini 3 Pro for drone work. Aerial drone footage can be useful for searching for missing persons or evidence, surveillance and/or obtaining overhead imagery of a crime scene location or a suspect’s property. The ability to capture hundreds of high-quality photos/videos in a short amount of time can assist agencies with crime scene re-construction and reduce time and labor on the ground.

INVESTIGATIVE GENETIC GENEALOGY

Our team has a certified genealogist on staff who can assist law enforcement with building family trees in the interest of identifying the owner of an unknown DNA profile found at a crime scene. Note that the law enforcement agency requesting this service will need to have SNP testing conducted through a crime lab and provide the fee to upload the DNA results to FTDNA or GEDMatch Pro.

ARSON ANALYSIS

Team member, Alan Haskins (hyperlink to bio on “Meet the Team” page), has worked his entire career in the firefighting and fire investigation field. Law enforcement agencies who have jurisdiction with a case involving a fire/arson can request in-depth expert analysis from Haskins. His expertise may provide additional information about the point of origin of a fire, type of accelerant used, sophistication of the arsonist, and flow of the fire.

AUTOPSY & INJURY ANALYSIS

Our team has members with advanced degrees in Forensic Sciences and related fields and first-hand experience in pathology and death investigation. Law enforcement agencies can request an independent review of a victim’s autopsy. This type of review can assist in conducting a re-creation of the murder, identifying information about the severity and order of injuries inflicted upon a victim, the positioning of the killer and victim during an altercation, estimated time/day of death, and holdback information about the crime (details only the killer would know).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

What do you charge for a case investigation and/or other services?

Our team does not charge victim’s families or agencies for our investigative services. We are comprised solely of volunteers who conduct investigations in their free time.

Q:

What is your criteria for accepting a new case for investigation?

We do not have set requirements for accepting a case and will review every case submitted to us for consideration. However, we have to analyze each case under the assumption that the investigating agency will not provide our team their case file. Therefore, cases are prioritized based on several solvability factors, including age of the case, ability to re-interview witnesses and persons of interest, ability to apply behavioral analysis to the actions of the killer and cooperation of agency assigned to the case. The one document our team requires to investigate a case is the victim’s autopsy report. Note that we do not investigate cases that are considered to be high profile or which have been ruled a suicide.

Q:

Where does my donation go?

We believe in empowering donors and allow them to choose where they want to apply their donation. We provide a reward fund for each victim’s case we investigate. Donors may choose to apply their donation to a particular victim’s reward fund or to assist the team with travel and resource expenses. If an arrest is made and a reward fund does not need to be paid out, donors may receive a refund on their donation or can choose to apply their donation to another fund.

Q:

What are the requirements to become a volunteer or team member?

If you’re interested in volunteering with our team, please contact us here (“here” hyperink to contact form). We do not have set requirements for team members and each potential volunteer is individually assessed for skills and suitability. We consider volunteers with any type of background, but prefer those with patience and dedication for long term projects, a keen attention to detail, ability to work with a partner or team, open-mindedness, excellent communication skills and who a type of expertise or skillset applicable to cold case investigations.
