LINDA MALCOM

1/21/1961 - 4/30/2008

CASE SYNOPSIS

Linda Malcom, 47, was murdered on April 29 or 30, 2008 inside her rental home in Port Orchard, WA. She was stabbed to death and then her house was set on fire. The fire was discovered by a neighbor at approximately 4am on April 30. Once the fire was extinguished, Linda’s body was discovered lying on the floor in the master bedroom.

Despite the fire, the Coroner was able to conduct a full autopsy. He determined that Linda had died prior to the fire being set. She had no soot or thermal damage to her esophagus and lungs. She had been stabbed 24 times, both on her front and back sides. Four of those wounds were considered lethal and any one of them by themselves would have resulted in death. Linda also suffered blunt force trauma to the right side of her head and had several defensive wounds on her hands and arms. Linda’s body was nude when discovered, but there was no evidence of sexual assault.

The Port Orchard Police Department has jurisdiction over Linda’s murder case.
